When does the Castanet Exchange collect personal information?
You can access and browse the Exchange without disclosing personal information. The Castanet Exchange will only collect your personal information when you:
- Register to become a Castanet Exchange Advisor
- Register as a Seeker to receive advice from a Castanet Exchange Advisor;
- Send us an email through the contact email link on the site.
Why do we collect information?
Seekers using the Castanet Exchange
The information gathered at the time of registration as a Seeker on the Castanet Exchange (Seeker) is used to verify the email address only and the Seeker may remain anonymous.
Advisors using the Castanet Exchange
At the time of registration as a Castanet Exchange Advisor (Advisor), information is gathered to verify that the email address is correct for communications. Advisors have the right to remain anonymous when interacting with Seekers; however the full contact details requested are required, on the system only, for Castanet Exchange Moderators to verify the credentials of the person providing the advice in the event of moderation being required.
The names and addresses of registered Advisors and Seekers are added to a database for Arts Information Exchange communication purposes only.
Feedback and email correspondence
The Castanet Exchange website includes a feedback email link on the home page. It goes directly to the administrator and manager of the Castanet Exchange.
Is any other information collected?
When you visit this website, anonymous information about your visit is recorded to assist
with website administration. This statistical information does not identify individual users
or tell us anything about you specifically, but it does record how visitors use our site. This
information will not be used to identify individuals unless a law enforcement agency executes
a warrant to inspect website activity logs.
